Who Am I?

As a used-to-be dentist and a public health professional, I have been in the profession of bringing care and health for more than twenty years. I have been a leader in the field of Dental Public Health, designed innovative programs and provided strategic consultation to improve public health systems. Deep down, I have always found my grounding by engaging in the arts, intuitive painting, and nature. Dance, visual storytelling, painting, writing, and poetry have been my practices for as long as I can remember. Years back, I became an intuitive painting facilitator through a teacher training program by Chris Zydel. Over time, the connection between my expressive art practices and my professional work has become more apparent. The pivotal moment came during a long, unproductive Zoom meeting, where I realized how much individuals and organizations could benefit from integrating creativity and self-expression into their daily lives. As a Persian immigrant woman, the arts have also helped me reconnect with my cultural roots, nurturing my sense of belonging. I often bring the poetry and wisdom of Rumi and Hafiz into my paintings and workshops, blending cultural expression with healing.
I am committed to bringing this holistic approach into my work and sharing it with others- creating safe spaces and programs that foster a sense of belonging and encourage us to tap into our creative, joyful, connected selves. Through the arts, we can heal, find grounding, and navigate the challenges we face—both as individuals and within organizations—unlocking creativity that strengthens our work and fosters more resilient and compassionate communities.
